Vodka Authentication by SMS

Textually has word of plans by the Russian government to introduce an authentication service for Vodka.
By sending the serial number of the bottle to a designated short code, they will get a response by SMS certifying (or not) the product.

iPhone Now Available

The wait is finally over! Starting 6 p.m. today, iPhone will be available through Apple’s retail stores, its online store, and selected AT&T retail stores.
iPhone will be available in a 4GB model for $499 (US) and an 8GB model for $599 (US), and will work with either a PC or Mac®. Beginning June 30 and continuing through the summer, Apple Stores in the US will open early at 9:00 a.m. for iPhone sales. Customers can check iPhone availability at their local Apple retail store starting at 9:00 p.m. the night before at www.apple.com/retail.

Ultra flat Sony Ericsson handset

Karsten Willmann designer has developed a concept of Sony Ericsson handset. It is packed in a specially flat shell and equipped with a contrast strong OLED display and a numeric keyboard with flat buttons. Besides there is a special a prominence on the rear that hides a camera with the flash.

Nokia E61i and Nokia E65 debuted in the US

Nokia has announced the launch of business smartphones on the US market – Nokia E61i and Nokia E65. Reportedly, the devices will be available online and in stores. The price for Nokia E61i and Nokia E65 will make up some $400.

New Nokia’s service – order prints from your smartphone

Nokia has launched a new service to print photos directly from a mobile device via cell or WLAN network. Delivery of prints is also available. Many European countries (Russia not yet in the list) can access the service. Soon the company will extend the list. The users need to install XpressPrint (supported by N-Series devices) to work with it, here (choose your country) you can get your free version.

iPhone lacking 11 functions

The release of Apple iPhone will take place tomorrow, June 29, but meanwhile some Internet sources report on the features the phone is missing. For example, you can come across eleven things not implemented in the iPhone. But Apple is likely to make periodic updates meaning most of these items could be fixed.

11 functions missing in the iPhone:
Cut/Copy/Paste option
Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
MP3 ringtones
Adobe Flash not supported in Safari browser
Video capture
MMS-messaging
No removable battery
No edit of Word and Excel files – you can only view them
Direct iTunes access
Instant messaging
Games

It’s not yet clear whether the mentioned things are really missing or just alleged: some of the points look at least very strange. Well, let’s wait for further details.
